Jacob Misener, B.Sc., M.OMSc., OSTCAN Cert.
Osteopathic Practitioner
Jacob began his education at the University of Waterloo where he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Honors Kinesiology with a focus in Rehabilitation Sciences and Advanced Human Nutrition. He then attended the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy where he received his Master in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc.).
Jacob has worked in several high caliber, multidisciplinary clinical environments as an osteopathic manual practitioner. This experience has informed his treatment style to work well with other disciplines as well as be effective as an independent provider. Jacob also has experience working with different patients across all age groups and life stages, such as pediatrics, pregnancy/postpartum, and persons 65 years and older.
Jacob’s clinical focus is in maximizing the effectiveness of the principles of osteopathy through manual treatment as well as patient education on body mechanics. His desired outcome is to provide a manual therapy alternative to pain relief that diminishes the need for medication. His primary areas of focus are in neck and low back pain, TMJ dysfunction, concussion recovery, nerve pain and abdominal/digestive discomfort.
